Westlock Red Lions Loses Despite Out Hitting Parkland Twins

Westlock Red Lions fell 6-4 to Parkland Twins on Tuesday at Keller Field despite out-hitting them nine to six. Derek Lofstrand and Travis Wagner each collected two hits for Westlock Red Lions.

Westlock Red Lions fell behind by five runs in the fourth inning, but then tried to fight back. Westlock Red Lions closed the gap by scoring on a single, a double, a single, a ground out, and a single.

Parkland Twins got on the board in the top of the fourth inning after an error scored two runs, Hayden Rake singled, scoring one run, Jordan Fehr was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Jake Moger singled, scoring one run.

Kyle Prather earned the win for Parkland Twins. The starter allowed three hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out seven and walking one. Leyton Sharrun took the loss for Westlock Red Lions. The pitcher went three innings, giving up six runs (five earned) on four hits, striking out one and walking three. Ayden Cote began the game for Westlock Red Lions. The pitcher gave up one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out six and walking four.

Westlock Red Lions amassed nine hits in the game. Lofstrand, Nate Day, Teron Callihoo, and Wagner each drove in one run for Westlock Red Lions. Westlock Red Lions turned one double play in the game.

Moger, Vaughn Rempel, Brett Barron, Brendan Marshall, Mike Cassidy, and Rake each collected one hit for Parkland Twins. Moger, Ben Poeter, Rake, and Fehr each drove in one run for Parkland Twins. Parkland Twins had patience at the plate, collecting eight walks for the game. Clark Spencer, Rempel, and Rake led the team with two free passes each. Parkland Twins didn’t commit a single error in the field. Brandon Ryan had the most chances in the field with 10.
