St. Albert Cardinals With Tough Game Against Westlock Red Lions

St. Albert Cardinals couldn’t keep up with Westlock Red Lions and fell 6-0 on Tuesday at Legion Memorial Ballpark Eng-Con Diamond.

Westlock Red Lions got on the board in the first inning after Travis Wagner singled, scoring one run.

Kyle Lawrence earned the win for Westlock Red Lions. The left-handed pitcher gave up four hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out 10 and walking none. Kevin Dryburgh took the loss for St. Albert Cardinals. The starting pitcher went six innings, giving up three runs (one earned) on six hits, striking out three and walking three.

Tye Nepoose-Hill, Peter Shepert, Chase Noppers, and Jack Robertson each collected one hit for St. Albert Cardinals. St. Albert Cardinals turned one double play in the game.

Sean Beaudoin, Teron Callihoo, Wagner, Jordan Brand, Nate Day, and Allen Borle each collected one hit for Westlock Red Lions. Callihoo, Wagner, and Carter Hagel each drove in one run for Westlock Red Lions.

Parkland Twins Stymied By Westlock Red Lions

The Parkland Twins couldn’t keep up with the Westlock Red Lions and fell 6-0 on Friday at Henry Singer Park.

Westlock got on the board in the top of the first inning after Sean Beaudoin walked, and Leyton Sharrun singled to center field, each scoring one run.

Ayden Cote earned the win for the Red Lions. The starting pitcher gave up five hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out nine and walking one. Kyle Prather pitched four innings in relief for Parkland. The hurler allowed five hits and three runs while, striking out five and walking one. Zaine Foth-Thomas took the loss for Parkland. The pitcher went one inning, giving up three runs on two hits, striking out none and walking two.

Parkland Twins’s Clark Spencer, the number eight hitter, led the Twins with two hits in three at bats. Parkland didn’t commit a single error in the field. Vaughn  Rempel had the most chances in the field with nine.

The Westlock Red Lions amassed 10 hits in the game. Beaudoin and Travis Wagner were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Westlock while hitting back-to-back. Beaudoin, Wagner, Sharrun, and Allen Borle each drove in one run for the Red Lions. Nathan Brown led Westlock with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up six walks for the game. Westlock turned one double play in the game.

Barrhead Orioles Fall To St. Albert Cardinals Despite Strong Effort From Kayden Rentz

Kayden Rentz collected three hits in four at bats, but Barrhead Orioles lost to St. Albert Cardinals 18-7 on Wednesday at Barrhead Sportsgrounds. Rentz singled in the first inning, singled in the third inning, and singled in the sixth inning.

Barrhead Orioles fell despite leading 7-2 in the fourth.

A fielder’s choice by Brett Visser put Barrhead Orioles on the board in the bottom of the first.

St. Albert Cardinals tied the game up in the top of the third thanks to two singles. St. Albert Cardinals tied the game at two on a single by Todd Whitney.

Barrhead Orioles took the lead in the bottom of the third inning after St. Albert Cardinals committed an error, Hunter Budgen grounded out, and Branden Meier singled, each scoring one run.

St. Albert Cardinals flipped the game on its head in the top of the fifth, scoring 15 runs on 11 hits to take the lead, 17-7. The biggest blow in the inning was a grand slam to center field by Daniel Simmonds that drove in four.

The starting pitcher allowed seven hits and seven runs (four earned) over four innings, striking out four and walking one.

Visser drove the middle of the lineup, leading Barrhead Orioles with two runs batted in. Rentz and Logan Branden each stole multiple bases for Barrhead Orioles. Parkland Twins defeated Barrhead Orioles 9-1 on Wednesday at Barrhead Sportsgrounds thanks in part to six runs in the second inning.

Parkland Twins jumped out to the lead in the top of the second inning after Brandon Ryan singled, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, an error scored one run, Brett Barron singled, scoring one run, and Mike Cassidy singled, scoring one run.

Parkland Twins added to their early lead in the top of the third inning when Hayden Rake singled, scoring one run, and Greg Brady doubled, scoring two runs.

Brady went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Parkland Twins in hits. Mike McFayden and Brady each drove in two runs for Parkland Twins. Ryan Poeter stole two bases. Parkland Twins ran wild on the base paths, amassing four stolen bases for the game.

Barrhead Orioles will travel to Legal Primeaus for their next game on Thursday.

Barrhead Orioles Defeat Legal Primeaus On Multiple Hit Performance By Lee Worobec

Lee Worobec collected three hits in three at bats, as Barrhead Orioles defeated Legal Primeaus 5-4 on Wednesday at Barrhead Sportsgrounds. Worobec tripled in the fifth inning, singled in the first inning, and doubled in the third inning.

A walk by Cole Rivard put Legal Primeaus on the board in the top of the first.

Worobec singled down the left field line, which helped Barrhead Orioles tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.

An error gave Legal Primeaus the lead, 2-1, in the top of the third.

Barrhead Orioles took the lead, 5-3, in the bottom of the fifth thanks to triples by Kayden Rentz, Worobec, and Johnney Klein.

Hunter Budgen earned the win for Barrhead Orioles. The starter allowed nine hits and three runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out three and walking two. Eric Pankiw took the loss for Legal Primeaus. The hurler went six innings, allowing five runs on nine hits, striking out four and walking none. Worobec appeared in relief for Barrhead Orioles.
