Lyall McMilan A Difficult Out As St. Albert Cardinals Defeat Edmonton Angels

Lyall McMilan collected four hits in four at bats, as St. Albert Cardinals defeated Edmonton Angels 13-2 on Tuesday at Legion Memorial Ballpark Eng-Con Diamond. McMilan doubled in the first inning, singled in the second inning, singled in the third inning, and doubled in the fifth inning.

St. Albert Cardinals scored seven runs in the first inning on the way to victory.  Chase Noppers was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, McMilan doubled, scoring one run, Daniel Simmonds drew a walk, scoring one run, Chase Latta drew a walk, scoring one run, Alex Ermube grounded out, scoring two runs, and a wild pitch scored one run.

St. Albert Cardinals added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Ian Pollard grounded out, McMilan singled down the right field line, and Simmonds walked, each scoring one run.

Westlock Red Lions fell 6-4 to Parkland Twins on Tuesday at Keller Field despite out-hitting them nine to six. Derek Lofstrand and Travis Wagner each collected two hits for Westlock Red Lions.

Westlock Red Lions fell behind by five runs in the fourth inning, but then tried to fight back. Westlock Red Lions closed the gap by scoring on a single, a double, a single, a ground out, and a single.

Parkland Twins got on the board in the top of the fourth inning after an error scored two runs, Hayden Rake singled, scoring one run, Jordan Fehr was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Jake Moger singled, scoring one run.

Kyle Prather earned the win for Parkland Twins. The starter allowed three hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out seven and walking one. Leyton Sharrun took the loss for Westlock Red Lions. The pitcher went three innings, giving up six runs (five earned) on four hits, striking out one and walking three. Ayden Cote began the game for Westlock Red Lions. The pitcher gave up one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out six and walking four.

Eric Pankiw took the loss for Legal Primeaus. The pitcher went two innings, giving up six runs (five earned) on seven hits, striking out three and walking none. Jackson Berube stepped on the bump first for Legal Primeaus. The starter surrendered three hits and three runs over three innings, striking out four and walking six. Corson Hanlan pitched two innings of scoreless ball for Westlock Red Lions in relief. The righty surrendered zero hits, striking out two and walking three.
