Barrhead Orioles had trouble keeping up with Westlock Red Lions in an 18-4 loss on Wednesday at Barrhead Sportsgrounds.
A solo home run to left field by Derek Lofstrand put Westlock Red Lions on the board in the top of the first.
Westlock Red Lions added one run in the second after Steve Cote singled to right field.
Westlock Red Lions added to their early lead in the top of the third inning when Ayden Cote singled, scoring one run, Leyton Sharrun scored after tagging up, and Carter Hagel singled, scoring two runs.
Westlock Red Lions scored seven runs on four hits in the top of the fourth inning. Travis Wagner homered to right field, scoring two runs, Hagel drew a walk, scoring one run, Cote singled, scoring one run, Lofstrand was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Wagner singled, scoring one run, and Sean Beaudoin singled, scoring one run.
Cote earned the win for Westlock Red Lions. The hurler gave up two hits and four runs over seven innings, striking out 14 and walking six. Kayden Rentz took the loss for Barrhead Orioles. The starting pitcher went six innings, allowing 17 runs on 18 hits, striking out two and walking eight.
Branden Meier and Liam Rentz each collected one hit for Barrhead Orioles. Dylan Moes paced Barrhead Orioles with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing six walks for the game.

Barrhead Orioles Secure Win Against Edmonton Angels

Barrhead Orioles were triumphant over Edmonton Angels 5-3 on Sunday at Barrhead Sportsgrounds.
Barrhead Orioles got on the board in the first inning after Lee Worobec grounded out, scoring one run.
Barrhead Orioles added one run in the second. Tom Clement grounded out, making the score 2-0.
Edmonton Angels tied the game in the top of the fifth thanks to a walk by Carter Bertling, and a single by Garrett Green.
In the bottom of the sixth, Barrhead Orioles broke up the tie when Logan Branden doubled, scoring one run. Then a single by Ryder Sabiston followed to extend the lead to 5-3.
Worobec earned the win for Barrhead Orioles. The hurler surrendered one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out five and walking two. Ty Brodie took the loss for Edmonton Angels. The pitcher went six innings, surrendering five runs (three earned) on six hits, striking out four and walking three. Kayden Rentz opened the game for Barrhead Orioles. The pitcher surrendered three hits and three runs over four innings, striking out two and walking seven.
