Parkland Twins defeated Barrhead Orioles 9-1 on Wednesday at Barrhead Sportsgrounds thanks in part to six runs in the second inning.
Parkland Twins jumped out to the lead in the top of the second inning after Brandon Ryan singled, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, an error scored one run, Brett Barron singled, scoring one run, and Mike Cassidy singled, scoring one run.
Parkland Twins added to their early lead in the top of the third inning when Hayden Rake singled, scoring one run, and Greg Brady doubled, scoring two runs.
Kyle Prather earned the win for Parkland Twins. The hurler surrendered four hits and one run over five innings, striking out 11 and walking one. Jamie Visser took the loss for Barrhead Orioles. Lee Worobec collected three hits in three at bats, as Barrhead Orioles defeated Legal Primeaus 5-4 on Wednesday at Barrhead Sportsgrounds. Worobec tripled in the fifth inning, singled in the first inning, and doubled in the third inning.

Barrhead Orioles had trouble keeping up with Westlock Red Lions in an 18-4 loss on Wednesday at Barrhead Sportsgrounds.
A solo home run to left field by Derek Lofstrand put Westlock Red Lions on the board in the top of the first.
Westlock Red Lions added one run in the second after Steve Cote singled to right field.
Westlock Red Lions added to their early lead in the top of the third inning when Ayden Cote singled, scoring one run, Leyton Sharrun scored after tagging up, and Carter Hagel singled, scoring two runs.
Westlock Red Lions scored seven runs on four hits in the top of the fourth inning. Travis Wagner homered to right field, scoring two runs, Hagel drew a walk, scoring one run, Cote singled, scoring one run, Lofstrand was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Wagner singled, scoring one run, and Sean Beaudoin singled, scoring one run.
