St. Albert Cardinals With Tough Game Against Parkland Twins

St. Albert Cardinals couldn’t keep up with Parkland Twins and fell 7-1 on Tuesday at Legion Memorial Ballpark Eng-Con Diamond.

Parkland Twins opened the scoring in the third after Doug Morris doubled, scoring one run.

Kyle Prather earned the win for Parkland Twins. The pitcher allowed five hits and one run over seven innings, striking out 10 and walking one. Forrest Tobias took the loss for St. Albert Cardinals. The hurler went five and one-third innings, giving up four runs (three earned) on 10 hits, striking out two and walking two.

Tye Nepoose-Hill, Chase Latta, Robert Sullivan, Zach Pollard, and Charmayne Gervais each collected one hit for St. Albert Cardinals. Gervais led St. Albert Cardinals with one run batted in. The infielder went 1-for-3 on the day. St. Albert Cardinals turned one double play in the game.

Parkland Twins accumulated 11 hits in the game. Number seven hitter, Brett Barron, showed the depth of Parkland Twins’s lineup, by leading them with three hits in three at bats. Brendan Marshall led Parkland Twins with two runs batted in. The infielder went 1-for-4 on the day. Clark Spencer and Morris each collected multiple hits for Parkland Twins.

Lyall McMilan A Difficult Out As St. Albert Cardinals Defeat Edmonton Angels

Lyall McMilan collected four hits in four at bats, as St. Albert Cardinals defeated Edmonton Angels 13-2 on Tuesday at Legion Memorial Ballpark Eng-Con Diamond. McMilan doubled in the first inning, singled in the second inning, singled in the third inning, and doubled in the fifth inning.

St. Albert Cardinals scored seven runs in the first inning on the way to victory.  Chase Noppers was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, McMilan doubled, scoring one run, Daniel Simmonds drew a walk, scoring one run, Chase Latta drew a walk, scoring one run, Alex Ermube grounded out, scoring two runs, and a wild pitch scored one run.

St. Albert Cardinals added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Ian Pollard grounded out, McMilan singled down the right field line, and Simmonds walked, each scoring one run.

Connor Zaharichuk earned the win for St. Albert Cardinals. The starter gave up three hits and one run (zero earned) over four innings, striking out three and walking one. Zackary Creighton took the loss for Edmonton Angels. The righty went one inning, giving up seven runs (three earned) on two hits, striking out none and walking two. Logan Woodburn appeared in relief for St. Albert Cardinals.

Forrest Tobias led St. Albert Cardinals with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, tallying eight walks for the game. St. Albert Cardinals turned one double play in the game.

Sam Mackenzie, Creighton, and Ty Brodie each collected one hit for Edmonton Angels. Ty Lau led the team with one run batted in.
